Welcome To
Our Mission
At Mental Balance, our mission is to elevate mental health to the same level of importance as physical health, especially for men and boys who often face unique, unspoken challenges. We aim to ensure they have the support, tools, and safe spaces needed to confront those challenges and transform their pain into positive, constructive energy.
We believe meaningful change begins with open dialogue, strong support systems, and the power of creative expression. Through these channels, we build resilience, foster community, and create space for healing and growth.
Our Why
Mental health challenges affect many men and boys, but too often, they suffer in silence. One in eight men will experience major depression in their lifetime, and men are 3.5 times more likely to die by suicide than women. Stigma, cultural pressures, and societal expectations often prevent men and boys from seeking the help they need.
At Mental Balance, we’re working to break the silence, challenge stigma, and create safe, supportive spaces for healing and growth.
Our Pillars
Community Collaborations Partnering with community organizations, local businesses, and sports teams to create meaningful wellness initiatives that foster connection, promote mental well-being, and empower community through engaging experiences.
School Partnerships Collaborating with school boards to provide mental health workshops and supportive programs for students and faculty.
Annual Mental Balance Gala Our signature annual event brings together community leaders, partners, and supporters for an inspiring evening of connection, storytelling, and celebration. Proceeds from ticket sales and fundraising activities throughout the evening help sustain and grow Mental Balance programs that empower youth and strengthen community well-being.
2026 - THE ECLIPSE – A STORY OF LIGHT, SHADOW, AND BECOMING ONE
At this year's Mental Balance Gala, The Eclipse – A Story of Light, Shadow, and Becoming One, guests will experience an evening of powerful storytelling, immersive moments, and meaningful conversation centered on resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth.
As we also celebrate 10 years of Hybrid Garbs, we honour the philosophy that has guided the journey from the beginning: "There Is No Good Without the Bad." Together, we'll explore how embracing both life's challenges and triumphs shapes who we are and inspires who we are becoming.
Black, White & Gold: A Night of Elegance and Opulence
Step into a night of elegance, opulence, and purpose as our formal Black, White & Gold dress theme brings the philosophy of Hybrid Garbs to life. Black symbolizes our values, purpose, and the person we strive to be. White represents our struggles, mistakes, fears, and imperfections—the experiences that often become our greatest teachers. Gold reflects the wisdom, resilience, and growth that emerge when we embrace both. Like an eclipse, where light and shadow coexist, this year's theme reminds us that true transformation comes from embracing every part of our journey, because there truly is No Good Without the Bad.

2025 - Say it With Your Chess – The Road to Accountability
On Saturday, October 18th, 2025 we continued our journey toward wellness with the return of our signature event. This year’s theme, Say it With Your Chess – The Road to Accountability, invited us to reflect, take ownership of our choices, and embrace the transformative power of accountability. Through powerful storytelling, immersive experiences, and meaningful conversations, we explored how personal responsibility shapes our lives, relationships, and futures. It was more than an event—it was a call to action. A moment to pause, reflect, and commit to becoming the best version of ourselves.
Thank You for an Unforgettable Night of Impact
We are deeply grateful to the 461 guests who joined us in support of Mental Balance and our mission to reduce stigma through open dialogue and build stronger community connections. Together, we raised over $5,000 to expand our wellness programs and fund youth scholarships which is a true testament to the power of unity and purpose. Heartfelt thanks to our 18 incredible sponsors for their unwavering support, to the incomparable MC Ebone for creating the vibes and setting the tone, Troy Crossfield for his inspiring presence, and to MM Entertainment and Jerome Lothian for their unforgettable performances that lit up the night. A special thank you to the dedicated therapists who continue to stand beside us, offering their expertise and compassion.
